Nitrogen? So does that mean that you can only inflate your tires at the dealer? I use regular compressed air. You can't always have a Nitrogen air source when you're on the road.

BTW Matt, congrats on the new truck. I hope you like it as much as I do. Be careful driving it, but it sounds like you are already.

Welcome and congrats on the Truck Matt!
My milage is great. I keep it at most, 5-10 mph over the speed limit. Lots of discussion last year about the tire pressure issue. I have started to see mine come on every morning (it's in the 30s now). But after a couple miles of warming upm, it goes off. I chalk it up to the sensitivity of the system. If it stays on for a while, then I'll check the pressure.

Yes, it's the latest fad. Many tire shops are installing the equipment to inflate tires with nitrogen. Commercial aircraft use nitrogen....many benefits. It does not leak out as easily at regular air. It contains no moisture. It expands and contracts less with temperature variation, and it is very profitable for whoever is selling it to you. Most places charge around $5 per tire to switch you over.

Matt: Welcome. I was just as excited as you when I took my H3 out for our first ride. I still have a boner! Name: big_skelleton.gif

I only use 79% nitrogen in my tires, works much better than 100%fill.

It may cost more for but I'm worth it .

I sometimes use trimix, the helium does improve fuel mileage .00125 mpg.

My hiking boots and canoe paddle have more miles than most 'offroad' vehicles, over 350 in last year.

Wow! Al Gore would be proud of you. And I assume the helium gives you more ground clearance too.
