Yeah, I know what you are saying. I normally have the laptop going while talking on the phone and watching the DVD...

But for real, I also hate seeing all that. I am one of the guys who normally just pulls off the road if I use the cell. And as for the DVD, well thats for stoplights.
LA damn I have never been there, I have been to Costa Mesa, what a zoo. I miss San Clemente!!! Thats the place for me.

Anything other than just "driving" while driving is a risky behavior. After 850,000+ commercial miles and countless personal miles I have seen too much of the aftermath of driver inattention. IMO anything more than a simpe AM/FM with a seek function is more distraction than you need, and even this is pushing the limits sometimes. Everything else is a bad invention when talking about driving.
Call me a Scrooge, but I have never been in an accident because of my own inattention, and my attention to the task at hand when driving has prevented a few accidents from other drivers not so attentative. It makes you wonder how many accidents could have been avoided if one or both of the drivers involved were actually paying attention to thier driving.

I have never had a accident myself, even when I had the dvd, kids and dog with me and all doing different things. I have however have a lil sports car drive under my rear wheel a few months back. Sucked for him!
But yes everyday driving is a distraction and no you are not a scrooge. I respect your point and I agree.
