Thanks for all the nice comments!
I've gotta admit, the highways are nice, but so are Texas' Hiways!
I can handle the Tax on my paycheck. I'll just claim my 10 children , open a medical spending account, and dump lots of $ into my 401K and IRA!
How can they tax you on stuff they don't know you have. I understand I have to register my trailer, Car, and motorcycles, but do you have to register ATV's, and home equipment?
Do they get the info from your insurance agent, or is it just the stuff you are still paying on!?

Ric,

Winters aren't bad at all...I burned 7-9 chords a year, just depended on the extent of the cold. The summer's will kill you...just like Texas. ( I don't care what anyone tells you, it gets HOT there too!!!

Your earlier comment about your next ex-wife??? Don't marry anyone from there either...to the tune of 80K after it was said & done

LC

PS...could you please choke that biotch for me if you see her?

Thanks for al the help!

I'm getting acclimated to the area.
Although, it's surpising how lost you can get after a few too many beers in a new town!
After 3 hours of driving around, and 3 stops at the same 7-11 (twice to pee and once for a killer burrito!) I finally found my apartment!

I feel right at home!

Other than that VA is a great state...I spent20 years there LC

I'm looking forward to spending some time in my new home state!
Thanks for the heads up on all this tax crap!
I think I'll manage to survive, as long as I can handle the winters!

Wow Nice house! A place like that in SoCal will cost 5 times as much if not more. Too bad I have no business to be over there otherwise I'd buy it!

It's a shame I gotta sell it, but I've moved on, and it's gotta go!

I'm finding out that housing in Virginia is not so cheap either!

You got that right. 165K won't even buy you a 1 bedroom condo in Northern VA.

Try the metro boston area. Depending on the town that house would fetch between $450-600K </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Hell, in the Bay Area that place would run about $800K-1 mil depending on the location. Maybe more in some of the towns.

Ric-Ho,

You think the housing market is different... Wait until the state of VA gets a hold of your pay check If that isn't enough, Dec. 5th if I recall is personal property tax day. Everything you own get's taxed right before you have X-mas.

Been there, done that & the state got my t-shirt...LOL
