Driving on Ice

We are getting our annual "WINTER STORM" here in San Antonio. Lasts a wopping 2-3 days but non the less, a mess around here because I, like most, are inexperiance in driving in these conditions.

My question is, does airing down the tires help with traction on the ice? If so, what should I air down too?

Airing down on ice will not help and may make traction worse in the right conditions. You want the tires as narrow as possible so as to put more pounds per square inch on the ground. Do not lock in the 4wd, just keep it in all wheel drive , you want the wheels to free roll as much as possible. If you lock it in the tires will fight themselves on turns which will cause loss of traction . ONce you break traction , grab your ass and hold on.
