"If they're driving a Hummer, that's because of everybody else who has one," said Persaud, who drives a Honda Accord.

So does that thought just apply to Hummer owners?

I have never named my car however my neighbor likes to refer to my H3 as "the black pearl".
He also says that it's fitting that I have a mean looking car. I think he was trying to tell me something

I don't name my cars or trucks, I let the manufacturer do that.

And if the manufacturer comes up with a really lame name, I won't buy it.

Examples: Sunbird, Probe, Oldsmobile, Cavalier, Prowler, Merkur, Regal, Suzuki Suicide (or was that Samari), etc.
