Default Re: Stinky smell?

coolant has a kinda sweet smell
the heater core might not be leakin bad enough yet to get the floorboard wet
id take it to the dealer if under warranty or to ur local shop (that u trust) if not under warranty
let them do a pressure test and to find where the coolant has went
i dont charge for the pressure test at our shop
if they do charge u it should be just a little charge ... 10 bucks maybe

Had the same problem with my 05 h2. It had 3400 miles when I noticed a collant type smell, but no coolant leaking anywhere. Took it in to the dealership, and the water pump had a defective bearing. They said they have had a lot of h2s with this problem. End result, they replaced the pump with a new one and since then theres been no smell.

Go BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dad took his to the deal in re some other issues and also this issue, but they couldnt find source of it. Seemed like they just gave that smell issue a quick once over though. He said he is going to take it back in to have them check it again.
