Re: No lights on Gauges
Sounds like a ground, but I can't make a corelation with the headlamp switch.
The HVAC, Hazard, rear wiper switch, traction control switch and some I/P panel lights all go through a splice and then to a ground under the hood.
The splice is nn the I/P harness, approximately 2 in right of the breakout to the left footwell lamp in the main harness bundle. The ground is in the engine compartment, on left inner front wheel well behind battery.
I would check the ground location just because it is easy.
You can check the gray wire at the BCM as pdsq99f4 suggested, but if the BCM was not tampered with, and it suddenly stopped working, I would not think this was a problem.
However, you mention some aftermarket radio equipment and the installer might have accidently cut this wire that goes from the dimmer switch to the BCM. You told me there was a hum when the lights were turned on.
Where did the installer connect the ground for the new head unit?
You can also check the pinout of the gray wire to the dimmer switch to make sure it is still connected.
Can you supply an exact list of which lights are not working.
Hard to diagnose from a distance, but a good electrical tech should get this one easily.
