Re: 2008 H3 SUV
I wonder if GM will offer a trade in or discount program on the engines alone.... should a '06 or '07 owner want to transplant the V8?
Would much have to be done with the drive train, computer, etc.?
And I also resemble that old remark, per se....
And I love my NAPS!!

I'm still wondering if we can get some facts about a possible V8, if indeed it is a possibility, so far nothing ????

I think (and yes, that has gotten me into trouble before ) that we will find out more about any new engines when the 2008 line starts production in June. H3Builder, does this sound about right?

Re: 2008 H3 SUV
I just looked at the specs for a 2007 Yukon. Isn't that a heavier vehicle than the H3? If so, it is getting comparable gas mileage with a V8 and obviously more horses....

Simple answer NO. I can explain more in April, but honestly, it would not be practical.

Re: 2008 H3 SUV
Too funny f5!
One thing I am concerned about is that some of the reports out there state that a conceptual 2008 H3 Alpha with new engine will be the Hummer "Street" version. Why? WTF is GM thinking? Taking a Hummer and for all intensive purposes making it into a "Mall Rated" Hummer aka Jeep.
On the flip side, I am seeing some of the concept Hummers and they look pretty cool, which would make me think that there are going to be some pretty cool changes in 2008 and in the future.

Since I can't edit my previous post, here is where I saw the information on the "Street" version.

IF...the reported Alpha is only a street version this will be two hits against Hummer for me. One was Desert Orange only in the Mall Rated version, the other would be the Alpha being a Mall Rated option only. This would put me over the edge, and probably right into a Desert Green Rubicon Unlimted 4-door Jeep.
However, I hope marketing is not that brain dead. The paint color made no sense; especially since they have approved Desert Orange for the H3. However, if they do release a V8 and it is only in the Mall Model, this will be me over the edge.
My personal opinion is the Alpha will be a fully optioned out H3 (aka Luxury Package with optional V8). I'm sure they will offer bling as options such as lower ratio tires, chrome anything, but I would hope they would also offer an off-road package. However, I have no idea how they will market a V8, if they even release one.

F5,
Since the New York Auto show is in April should we be keeping an eye on that show for Hummer annoucements?
Thanks
