Shoot. Too expensive? Interiors are cheap (relatively). Take it to a good reupholstery shop and let them do their magic. You can do some custom stuff that will make it more than just black.
I say go for it.
Also, remember, a little black shoe polish will keep those seat looking perfect long after most other colors show their wear!!
Just tint those windows to keep the heat down!!
