Re: MOAB RUN 2K7
Just thought I would throw this out and see who is interested. Mona and I are planning on going to Glacier Park in Montana after we leave Moab.
Anyone want to join us?

You do know that the Going to the Sun road that goes through Glacier isn't open until around May or so depending on the snow levels.
But you can have fun on either the west or east side of the park, but you will have to take US 2 to get to each side.

West, remind me to talk to you about the summer run thru the Rockies that I want to set up. We need some maps of Montana and Wyoming. I have Idaho.

I can head as far north as Idaho Falls with you, but I can't go the whole way. (maybe) I'll have to figure that one out. It'll probably still be closed, but it's beautiful. Westhillsat is from Montana, he can give you advise.

OldHiker is not going to do Glacier now, he wanted to go across the Going to the Sun road.
It won't be completely open until May/June depending on the amount of snow and weather conditions. They don't start plowing it until some time in April.

Since the info I have received is that the Going to the Sun Road is closed, Glacier is not worth the drive. Not sure where we will head.

What do you want to see? Jackson Hole, WY is kind of cool. The week after Moab is the first week the lifts close, I think. But that means there will be less tourists, and lots of neat artistry and furniture on sale. Hmmm....might have to check it out. Keep your options open but that road is really up there. (in elevation)
