Re: Pelosi - head scarf in Syria
Yea, I dont think any of our politicians are looking too keen these days.. and sadly they represent ALL OF US abroad and people from abroad gain thier perception of our country based off of these idiots actions.... They are thought to be the cream of the crop from us and this is what we show them?

Re: Pelosi - head scarf in Syria
"Ms. Pelosi not only misrepresented Israel's position but was virtually alone in failing to discern that Mr. Assad's words were mere propaganda."
"We have found much to criticize in Mr. Bush's military strategy and regional diplomacy. But Ms. Pelosi's attempt to establish a shadow presidency is not only counterproductive, it is foolish."
That is likely as objective as the Washington Post gets.

You mean John Kerry’s Jan. 23, 2003 WMD speech?:
“Second, without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime. We all know the litany of his offenses. He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation. He miscalculated an eight-year war with Iran. He miscalculated the invasion of Kuwait. He miscalculated America's response to that act of naked aggression. He miscalculated the result of setting oil rigs on fire. He miscalculated the impact of sending scuds into Israel and trying to assassinate an American President. He miscalculated his own military strength. He miscalculated the Arab world's response to his misconduct. And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction. That is why the world, through the United Nations Security Council, has spoken with one voice, demanding that Iraq disclose its weapons programs and disarm. So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real, but it is not new.”

You obviously either can't or won't get it, but what Pelosi did has nothing to do with the over-used cliche that all politicians are opportunistically dishonest. Quite the opposite. What she did was invent words that, if a head of state of one of our allies had said them to her, would make her look good. Then, not having the grey matter to realize that Olmert would point out the lie, she went ahead and stated it as fact. Lying about your voting record or what you did in college may be bad. But lying about what your ally's political leader said is just stupid because it is guaranteed to slam back in your face. It is just sheer stupidity.
It would be like the House speaker in 1942 going to Berlin and London and then, to score cheap political points in the U.S., making up something about Churchill expressing a desire to make peace with Hitler. Never mind that Churchill is certain to politely clarify that it's a big lie. And never mind that it would undercut the foreign policy of both Britain and the U.S. Whatever else, it just makes you look stupid.

Ah, Nancy Pelosi, one of the "Dyke triplets".
Dianne Feinstein>Nancy Pelosi>Angela Alioto that's a fine trio right there.
