And, it's every one of our jobs to stare down the chick in Anchorage driving the Subaru with the vanity plates "no war" every morning on the way to work

It was an odd feeling.
I have seen the bumper stickers, tv and stuff, but when I was right in the middle of such hate for the President (a President that has been through so much and carried this country through so many tragedies) my heart started pounding. Not a yellow ribbon in sight. I had harsh words on the tip of my tongue praying that one of those people would say something to me. I just wanted to shake them, take them by the shoulders and shake some sense into them.
I couldn't even stay out there long, I had the same expression the airport shuttle passengers did when I asked Ken loudly about his contagious rash.
