Re: SAVE THE CHEERLEADER....
Ok, it's been awhile - what was Sylar's initial power? I remember the scene with him in the watch shop, but can't remember how he got started in all that.
They also haven't shown if BOTH parents need to have the power. So far, it's been that case.

He had "Intuative Aptitude" and his name was Gabriel Gray.
As to both parents having power, we don't know that 100%. Angella Petrelli hasn't shown a power, but you can infer she's probably a PreCog. Remember when she said she knew about Peter's power long before he did?
Also, we don't know if Sylar's mom has a power and again, we don't know anything about Sylar's dad other then he worked on watches, too.
Chandra Suresh called Sylar Patient Zero as if he was the first, but that doesn't make any sense.

Re: SAVE THE CHEERLEADER....
Almost time to start. I'm going to call all you west coasters and tell you what happens with Sylar and his mom. I'm guessing the box he's holding in the previews contains a snowglob for his mom. Why? In the background of he and his mom there are globes. Either that or it's a head like Dahlmer had in his box....
Highlight to read NBC's release:
1x21 "The Hard Part"
AS NATHAN AND HIS FAMILY READY FOR THE ELECTION, HIRO AND ANDO FACE THE HARD PART OF SAVING THE WORLD; ERIC ROBERTS, RENA SOFER GUEST-STAR -- Now knowing what's at stake if they fail in their mission, Hiro (Golden Globe nominee Masi Oka) and Ando's (James Kyson Lee) determination to save the world is put to the test. Committed to the path, Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) takes some surprising steps to guarantee his election. Jessica (Ali Larter) and D.L. (Leonard Roberts) begin to learn how their family fits into Linderman's plans. Thompson (guest star Eric Roberts, "Less Than Perfect") brings someone new into his company's fold. With more and more blood on his hands, Sylar (guest star Zachary Quinto) visits his mom (guest star Ellen Greene). Santiago Cabrera, Jack Coleman, Noah Gray-Cabey, Greg Grunberg, Hayden Panettiere, Sendhil Ramamurthy and Milo Ventimiglia also star. Matthew John Armstrong, Justin Evans, Missy Peregrym, Cristine Rose, Rena Sofer ("24"), Adair Tishler, and Jackson Wurth guest-star.

Re: SAVE THE CHEERLEADER....
It also didn't look like Sylar's mom had any powers, so there goes the parental theory. Unless Sylar's dad is.......Lindermann?
Hmm....
