Default Re: Back Up Camera with GPS

Mounted my monitor on the left side of the dash, next to the "A" pillar. Had it in the center of the dash but didn't like it there. Now when I look in the driver's side mirror while backing the monitor is right there and I can confirm nobody is behind me before I start.

The other option I was going to try was mounting it high on the windshield next to the rearview mirror, using a universal cell phone mount and some velcro & double sided tape.

Like you, I drove around for a while using the cig. lighter plug until I found a good spot to mount the monitor, then hard wired it.

Where did you hardwire this to? Is it powered all the time, or just when the ignition switch is on?

Also until I decide just where I want to mount it I'm just using the 12v accessory plug. If someone else mounts and wires one of these please post a pic of it and tell us where you wired it
Which wire is the backup light wire in the trailer hitch assy?
