After a minute or two of beeping, it will stop...you just have to wait it out

My aftermarket onstar module went bad and the chimes got really loud and had feedback on phone.
The installer replaced it at no charge(after a year and a half) and set it to lowest setting,it not that loud now I can live with it.
I forgot how loud the factory unit was ?.
