How do you disable OnStar?
I wasnt to completely disable OnStar. Is there a simple method such as pulling out a fuse?

i HAVE PULLED THE FUSE ON MINE ,while your at it if you carry a cell phone you may want to tell your provider you want to diable the GPS and than take the battery out at the times your parinoid. just because you think they are out to get you doesn't mean they aren't. isn't the 21st century great ? access to any one at any time and any place.they tell me if you pay your tax's and behave every thing will be just fine.

The hats don't do ****, the transmitters are in your teeth. Also a common misconception is that the phone and cable jacks are where the government gets access to your home, but it's really your light switches and power outlets.

If you think Onstar is tracking you, just to track you, possibly you should consider a psychiatrist. They are too busy, and without a court order or a request from you, they do NOT track you. (You give permission for them to notify emergency personnel if your air bags go off.)

Re: How do you disable OnStar?
the way i look at it is this...if they (government, onstar, etc) has nothing better to do that watch me run around selling real estate..... then crime, graft and corruption has been eliminated....
now since everytime I turn on the news someone is killing someone, stealing something or doing other activities...i think its pretty safe to assume that crime graft and corruption has not been eliminated so they wont be watching me.
Another thing to think about is what if you are in a wreck and cannot notify anyone, you or a loved one might perish if you dont get the help that onstar can give you.

I've done that too, just hit the button again to end the call. If someone is on the line already, tell them you accidentally hit the button and they'll end it. I've even gotten the "Impact detected, connecting to OnStar Emergency" message before... and all I had to do was tell them there was no accident, no airbag deployment and decline medical aid and it was over.

Re: How do you disable OnStar?
But be careful. OnStar can hear you, and it knows what you're trying to do:

Re: How do you disable OnStar?
taking the little antenna off seems to be pretty effective...it reduces the range of transmission and reception substaintaly...try and see
