Re: Dragonskin Body Armor
The jury is still out on it's performance.

The Army and Marines have stated that it is not allowed as a replacement for the issued body armor. They have said you could wear it in addition to the issued body armor, but that isn't realistic.

Re: Dragonskin Body Armor
It was just on Dateline tonight and they showed that all the critics are politcally motivated as Dragonskin out performed all others on the show.

Re: Dragonskin Body Armor
Dragonskin might work, I hope it does.
In order to meet the criteria it has to work in rain, cold, heat and sun, and resist a variety of chemicals, over a period of years.
They already know ceramic plates work, they are heavy and hot, but they have been proven to stop rifle velocity projectiles.
Hopefully Dragonskin or something similar is the future, but only if it is proven to work.

Many have already seen this, but the ceramic plates worked. He was shot with a Russian sniper rifle.
He survived and the towel heads were caught by members of the soldiers own platoon.

Like I said, it's all about the payola. Both sides of the aisle are guilty of it.

Re: Dragonskin Body Armor
PLease, the Army had a chance to buy a Anti-RPG system that shoots the RPG out of the air before it impact the vehicle. It is a tested and proven Isreali system but the Army decided to let a big contractor develope their own which will be ready in 8 years.... long time for those over seas to wait for help.
