Default Another Employee Issue

I just love sharing this crap with ya'll.

New guy, 31 years old started yesterday. Makes $35K. Called and left me a VM today saying he had a family tragedy and cant make it in. Knows that it is his 2nd day but it can t be avoided.

This is where it gets good.

This "tragedy" is that his dog of 5 years died. Said his "whole family is at the house mourning and making the arrangements". Arrangements? You need your "whole family" to stuff a dead dog in a plastic bag and sling it in a dumpster?

I called him and explained that our company bereavement policy does not cover F$%King dogs.

I also told him that he was to report for work at the normal time or not at all…ever.

Had this been a 15 year old family pet I may have been a little more understanding but Christ! A dog of 5 years???

GET YOUR ASZZ TO WORK!!!!

So my question is this.

Should I paint my sons go kart black or red? I am thinking Black so it will match my Black Heart!

Oh, and before you loosers who are gonna call me an A hole and an animal hater... FO! I love dogs...when their flat! (refrences on old post you may or may not get...JK anyway. I like animals)

Black. Yeah........Definitely black is a good color.

James,

Fire that fruitcake before it's too late.

I have a 30 year old Cockatiel bird who's been with me since I was 9 years old(He was 2 years old already before we adopted him.). He gets the full honors burial when he dies. But I'll still be going to work. He'd want that.

My dog is still in the 3 year probationary no mourning period.

Paint it black, tie a stuffed dog to the back of it and ride by his house.

Do you have or had a dog?

If it's true give him a break. How a person treats his family and pets tells alot about someone.
I would say that after one day on the job the family and dog would come first.

If he doesn't show up the next work day, can his ass.

Your mixing it in with a new job? I took a day off for my dog of 16 years. I also had to go to work the day before and after my dad died. You gotta eat. Some bosses and jobs don't care.
