i put bilstiens on my 95 ford bronco and they made that the roughest riding truck i have ever had! i took them off and threw them away less than a month after i bought them!
why didnt you just buy the truck with the adventure package?

Does not matter what model. To get rid of the nose dive you have to T-bar crank. Then you need LONGER shocks......

ok, i have not done that yet, but was considering moving up to 35's as soon as the 33's wear out. (i might be creative in figuring out a way to make them wear out faster)
i didnt realize that the t bar crank would require a different set of shocks.
i don't recall the other posts about that on this site showing the need for different shocks.
i thought it was only necessary to make 1 to 2 turns on the torsion bars, depending upon the size of the new front tires to have adequate clearance.
is that true?

I did the crank on my 06 and now on the 07 with no big problems and no shock changes?

I have mine all the way up minus one. If you crank em up it is better to get the longer shocks. This will in turn give you more travel. Also, the Bilstien shocks help the front end after a T-bar crank in turns as well. I did a before, on and off road, and an after. Big diff!

you dont need different shocks .

i have been runnin stock with 35's for 20k miles with 2 turns on the torsion bars . no problems with warranty repairs or performance .

that is what i thought had been said here.
if it is about the h3 and it comes from you,
then i know it is true!

whats pretty cool is TGL has a base and runs the **** out of it too he has the same 315 toyos and has never cranked his bars .

by cranking the bars much more than 2 turns or a 1/4 inch off the bumpstops all your getting is a harder whack when the front tires hit the front fenders it gives the best all around ride in my opinnion with a little more clearence .

Well it's not ALL you're getting. You are still gonna get more height in the front end. By turning the bars.

I turned mine up about five turns, I would add the new shocks if you go that much or more. The increased distance (travel) is necessary if the height is important to ya. Less basketball effect and hitting the shock limits (topping them out).

I have seen Neo hit hard in the front end though (coming down Cliffhanger- remember . I was following him and he came on the CB advising that I might want to take a slightly different line than he had just taken, still makes me smile thinking about it ), and his truck took it great! So from just a performance standpoint, I think he makes a good point about how many bar turns are necessary.
