2 TRAFFIC TICKETS THIS MORNING

2- Rear Plastic LICENSE Plate Cover = $90.00 Once again I have covers on all my cars license plates.
(According to the NY State Vehicle and Traffic Law under section 402-1, number (license) plates "shall not be covered by glass or ANY plastic material" )

In any case New Yorkers beware the two tickets I fear most came true this morning. Now my $6.35 parking day turned into $186.35

THE STANDARD AND ONLY ANSWER YOU EVER GIVE IN ANY STATE IS :

"No Officer I don't, I was paying attention to the TRAFFIC and Traffic Conditions..."

I dont know if your aware of this but...

I NY those tickets are equipment violations if you put the front plate on and remover the plastic cover within 24 to 48 hours you go to the desk sargent at the precinct that issued the ticket they will inspect your rig and the tickets will be disregarded .No charge

Many people dont know this I deal with many young drivers with a drivers ed program and tell them this.Many I seen months later and said it worked for lights/tint/front plate/bald tire/cracked windshield ect.

Go to precinct Do now !

California signs-off fix-it tickets for free too (once fixed).

Sounds about like my ticket I got in NYS. I was driving on I-86 near Cuba NY when a turkey hunter shot my windshield in my Element. I call the police and they said- "You pulled over immediately, right?" I'm like um.....no. I'm from near Detroit and in Detroit when someone is shooting at you- you don't pull over. So....the cop finally comes along- does his assessment of the situation and sends me on my merry little way.

About 45 minutes later- on the other side of Jamestown NY (headed towards Erie PA)- I get pulled over by a state trooper. The trooper gets out of his car- walks to my drivers side window and says "Mam- do you know it's illegal to drive in the state of NY with a severly broken windshield?"
I was shocked. First of all- I get shot by a damn turkey hunter (who breaks my perfectly fine windshield). Then I get a ticket from a cop because I'm driving illegally in the state of NY. Not to mention the fact that the cop totally thought I was full of $hit when I said I was shot by a turkey hunter. What the hell is wrong with NYS?

I have always had to pay $10 on the fix it tickets, ie: tint, no front plates, windshield crack. Let me know what youre tellin em if thats not the case for you.

I say "look it's fixed". And they sign it in Sunnyvale in the parking lot of the police station.

Yes I have heard this too knew some one who needed to change plates but had them in the car (it was Feb. sub zero) and the cop followed him to a garage so he could watch him put them on.
Make the change and show them that you did it you may get a break, sans the smart remarks !
Bye the way the guy got the ticket anyway!
