it has been funny, because most people just assume that any hummer has at least a v8 in it. most people are astonished to hear that they come with 5 cylinders.
i rarely get above 70 anyway, and that's really going dangerously fast around here.
sure is nice going 40 or 50 on the dirt though!!!!

Not EVEN fast enough!!!!
Not sure about the Alpha for right now, I'm probably going to wait until the fervor dies down and the incentives begin, but I will have one. I'll wait six months or so and save thousands.

Re: H3 Alpha - Edmunds Test Drive
good for you!
if you saw the condition of the roads and the way people drive here,
you wouldn't drive fast here either.
i think i had mine over 90 in california before i drove it home.
on top of that, we still have cows, burrows, goats and wild horses crossing the roads here.
they would do quite a bit of damage at 95MPH!!!!

Re: H3 Alpha - Edmunds Test Drive
The speed limiter is precisely why I'll probably have my 'puter reprogrammed. If a bandito is after you, the last thing I want is my 'puter putting on the brakes.
I dodge cows, pigs, deer, mountain lions, bears, you name it. 97 ain't very fast if someone's chasing you, having the speed limiter on the vehicle is like carrying a gun with no bullets.

well, i never have met a critter that can run 70 mph!!!!
aside from being chased by hot chicks (which happens all the time here in cabo and normally they are in teeny bikinis), i don't remember the last time someone tried to "chase" me.
in my experience, it is pretty rare that happens unprovoked.
to be prepared for that unlikely event (since there are crazies out there), i keep a full-size maglight jammed between the drivers seat and the console along with a small can of pepper spray in the driver's door stow box, just because - you never know.

Wish you would have shown the RPM's at that speed as well. How many Revs is the I-5 turning at 97 MPH?

I don't recall, but it's not very darned many RPMs if I recall (somewhere in the 3s. Next time the road's empty and safe, I'll check it out. Believe me, the computer shuts it down pretty hard when it hits 97.

Re: H3 Alpha - Edmunds Test Drive
H3 gearing in top 2 gears is so tall you could hit 97mph in 3rd gear.

Not sure about 97 but at 106 it's turning about 5100. I haven't been able to get it over 106. I think it is aerodynamically impossible.
