I am having the same problem and have been told it is the steering shaft also. Went to the dealer two weeks ago and mentioned that's what I thought it was. They said no way. They came back an hour later and said it was the steering shaft. :/ They need to order the part and I haven't heard back from them yet. I will call them Monday and see what's up. But it is warrenty, so no charge to fix it... other then the hour it takes me to get to the closest dealer. I loose a half day just for a stinkin oil change.

I think I may have the same issue. When I brake a and turn or accelerate and turn I hear a sort of clicking sound. It almost sounds as if something is real tight and aabout to snap.

Is this what everyone else is experiencing?

I emailed my sales person and forwarded the link to the forum she admitted it was a huge problem and said they have the new columns and installed several just last week. She wants me to call her monday morning so she can make sure they have one with my name on it so they can put it on the same day so I won't have to make two trips

That's not really what mine does. Mine is whenever you hit any little bump, there is a knocking feeling through the pedals and steering wheel. It's like something is loose and rattling around.

that is what mine is doing I will let you know if the column fixes it but the dealer said it would it was an easy fix and they have done several. The steering column is VIN specific I guess they know which ones have the faulty ones

I'm having the same problem and I only have 1100 miles on mine. Called the dealer and before I could finish explaining what the problem was they new what the issue was. They've ordered in the new part for me and I should be getting it replaced later this week. I will update everyone afterwards

here is the email my dealer sent back to me:

Yes, I know exactly what problem you are talking about?.good news is?it is not a safety issue. When they modified the steering shaft for the 2007 Hummer H3 (because they increased the distance between the brake pedal and the gas pedal) it bumps the bottom of the Hummer.

Great news is?.we received the new steering shafts and we are installing them as fast as we can.

Four Hummers were fixed on Friday and we are making appointments left and right for the ones that need to be fixed
