Re: Spare tire rack
After further review and looking at the rear door, I am going to relocate my spare to the roof and have Terry at off road acc. of Texas design a mount for a jerry can where the spare went. I will keep all of you updated as we go along.

You ever try to remove a 35" tire from the roof? Hopefully you dont get a flat. I had an 85 4runner back in the day with tire on the roof, only a 33", and f-that. Thats all I have to say. Looks good. Sucks to remove and put back up there. PUt the jerry cans on the roof.

Re: Spare tire rack
I did have steel wheels. Good point. I felt like a fool wrastling that bittch off there the one time I had a flat. Point well taken. Do you just climb up there and throw it off or what (look out below )? I wonder what the weight diference is steel vs. aluminum? 15-20 lbs per wheel? True that you dont often get a flat as well. Make sure to get a cover for it or keep it dressed in order to avoid sun damage, premature cracking, if in a sunny area like me (So Cal).
