That's lame!! (on their part) Who would have thought that the tow hooks were put on at the stealership.

Re: New here, new to Hummer, just got the 08 H3
Thank you all for the warm welcome and the comments.
I think once the fires are over and the whole thing settles down we should definitely have a run somewhere nice.
I agree about the tow hooks, they should have come from the factory.
Hopefully I can get a free spare tire cover out of the whole mess when I go back for the hooks.
Oh yeah how do you guys wash your Hummers? Just hose them down or do you take the time to hand wash and wax?
I know it is a labor of love hand washing and waxing my GTI but the truck is a lot bigger
Peace

Re: New here, new to Hummer, just got the 08 H3
aaah the love of fine german automobiles. I think I spend more time waxing my audi then myself. Recently acquired a corrado, so it will get the same treatment.
H3 gets driven through the gas station washer thats free with every fill up. They look better with dirt on them anyway and I think the truck is happier too when shes dirty. Besides I am usully out playing in the dirt every weekend anyway, so it would be a waste of time. I try to mostly keep the undercarriage clean and lubed. Leather and interior is treated and cleaned all the time too.
We can camp up at Gorman, so we should plan for late November, early December trip. I love the cold weather. Decent beginner to intermediate trails too.

Re: New here, new to Hummer, just got the 08 H3
hehe I definitely love the German autos with all my heart
but they do not take the bumps and potholes and rough terrain like a Hummer
stagger do you post on vortex or fourtitude? I recognize that user name from other forums.
I gotta find some spots close to L.A. that I can have some fun in the truck at and learn how to drive it offroad
I am about to go hose the H3 down after I do a mini wash & wax on my GTI
Peace!

Re: New here, new to Hummer, just got the 08 H3
got a new Casio Exilim EX-77 for a really good price so I couldn't pass it up
my last Casio Exilim was damaged in the chase that ensued after my GTI was sideswiped by a drunk driver who attempted to flee but ended up being stopped by me until police arrived to arrest him
I was waiting for the insurance settlement but decided that I need a cam so I sprung for it
Where and when can we set up a Socal run?
today I found a tiny dirt road near my house that was pretty cool, but I need something bigggggg
Peace
