Re: New Owner - Battery Question
I would switch that battery setup right away ( I have a stock one I could send you free of charge in exchage for those not original ones).
Congrats on your new rig

Re: New Owner - Battery Question
Thanks for the feedback everyone. So, the truck is only pulling from one battery and the second battery is for accessories (winch, lights, etc.) that I have on the truck? Just wanted to make sure I understand everything...
In regards to the washers... Do I need any special kind? I just keep putting them on until it tightens down? How tight should I screw it down? Also, is there any danger in messing with the terminal or is it a safe do-it-yourselfer?
Thanks again...

By having 2 you have doubled the capacity and available amperage compared to 1. But if you run the system down with the engine off (which is hard to do with 2 yellow tops) You will need a jump. You have no isolated back-up. A good auto-electric shop could put in an isolator for you if you really want one.

Then stack the washers a tiny bit thicker, so that it all can tighten firmly.
Thanks again...

Sure.

Re: New Owner - Battery Question
Very nice setup! I only have a single yellow top in mine.

Where can you buy a yellow top, and how much more expensive are they than a regular set-up? Is it worth the money? Thanks....Jamie

Re: New Owner - Battery Question
Jamie, you can get them in many places including Sears and sometimes Costco. About $175 seems to be the going street price these days. You know what they say, "Opinions are like ashholes, everybody's got one." I happen to think that yellow tops are great.
