The rim and tire size depend on what you prefer. If you run a 35in tire i think a 20in rim looks best but if you run a 37in rim i think a 22in would probably look best. As far as braking goes, i have no problems running 20s with 37s.
Good luck airing down and running rock on rubberbands! Don't get too attached to those 22" rims, they won't last long.
