...OEM rock rails seem pretty tough - during the installation I was pleased by their weight, material quality and eight bolt heavy-duty frame mount. I wondered if they'd help in case of side impact since they sort of extend the frame to the sides nicely...looks like they can contribute to safety in certain scenarios
