Re: In pursuit of the best WHISKEY......
Wild Turkey, haha, my first. Whew boy!
Hard liquors are fine and all but they taste like sh1t, whiskey specially- admit it.
I only drink on occasion
- but I have this bottle of Absinthe Edouard I have been looking forward to, after the pregnancy of course.
I really like the preparation ritual, controversy and mystery of it all. Plus you get to buy all cute little silver spoons and special glasses. It's still illegal here I believe, but only to sell it, not consume.

Actually, I heard the Absinthe ban was recently lifted. But, I haven't looked in to it any further. I had a bottle and I'll be honest. It tastes like sh!t and doesnt do a damn thing except get you drunk.

Why was it banned? If it was, it must be good.
Is that where they put a sugar cube in it and mix it with a silver spoon?
I think I saw Sutherland do that on Cold Mountain.

I heard that! I brought back 4 bottles from Russia last year and it was rough! I was glad to see the end of it once it was gone.
I dont think it needs to be banned as it really didnt do anything cool. Just a mellow drunk..

Re: In pursuit of the best WHISKEY......
We ordered ours from Liquors de France.
It was banned because the worm wood is a hallucinagenic.
Europe just lifted the ban a couple of years ago.
There are different kinds, also. The first bottle we got was a great gift, but used a different wood and is legal in the US.
This second one is the real deal. You can even order old, original bottles that have been discovered over time.
The key is proper preparation so it won't taste bad.

Tonight on Nat Geo, Moonshine. After all, that's whiskey.
Hey, if it wasn't for prohibition, there may not be NASCAR.
Maybe I should send you some Virginia Lightning.

OK, nevermind. They keep talking about big business Virginia operations pulling in $50k a week.

Re: In pursuit of the best WHISKEY......
I started out with JD, then went to Wild Turkey, and have settled on Crown Royal. Very Smooth. Crown on the rocks. Very nice.
My buddy likes Basil Hayden, Bookers, and Bakers. A bit more expensive.
Absinthe sounds fun. It is the next thing to try. My favorite quote about it...
?Got tight last night on absinthe. Did knife tricks.? ?Hemingway
