If you guys cut them and decide you hate it, holla at me, I have a few extra center caps that were sent to me in error.

Tempted to do this mod, just got my Rockstars today, Les Schwab thought maybe they sent me the wrong caps cause they stuck out so far. Anyone have a pic of the shortened caps?

I did this mod on mine and a buds truck.

you want to leave 1/4" from touching the rim. You will have to cut the bolts down to, or buy shorter bolts. I also recomend spraying your hubs black when doing this. It will keep the rust from the hub getting on your wheels and you will not see that rust with the center cap on. I think it was cut 1" off, but not sure on that.

This is easy to do....I have done it on 3 set of Rockstars. I just got my wife an 06 Tuesday and we installed 22" Rockstars yesterday with 37s, I will be modding the caps today.

Cut the "pegs" down with a dremel...or anything you have access to....tread a nut on the bolts..and then cut off the bolts the same amount...take the nut off this will fix the threads....and your done.

anychance you could take a close up pic after completed?

So putting a nut on the cut bolt will fix the thread?

thanks for the helpful info.

Also thanks Timgco for the paint advice. I'll be doing that for sure!
