Re: Shocker - Romney out
Romney was the last "electable" candidate in the running who was serious about closing the border.
McCain is no conservative and his views about the border are a joke. Osama and Billary aren't going to do anything about the border.
I agree with Ron Paul on many issues, but IMO he's wrong about the war. The two most important issues for me are the war and the borders.

None of the candidates are going to do enough with the border, but I'll be damned if I'll vote for one of those Lieberals.

Re: Shocker - Romney out
They're all pretty liberal now! If Romney had talked as strongly during his entire campaign as he did in his "suspension" speech, he would probably still be in the race. He was pandering too much to the Conservacrats in the party!
The way he pulled out of the race, by suspending his campaign, he is still able to receive contributions. What's that all about? Once Huckabee withdraws will we see Romney reappear?

Re: Shocker - Romney out
Huckabee has a deal with McCain, his job was to pull the Evangelicals away from Romney in the South. It worked.
They were not likely to vote for a Mormon anyway, but a former Baptist preacher was a easy choice for them, most didn't see far enough ahead to understand the real meaning of that vote.
You can't be President without the South. Romney couldn't win in the South with Huckabee doing his job for McCain.
McCain knows politics.........
Edit*
I don't like McCain, Obama or Billary.......and even a vote for Ron Paul has us tuck tail and run in Iraq.
I think the liberal media succeeds in pulling public opinion where they want it.......Make people worry about him being a Mormon, and they won't look at the conservative platform that is probably more like their own views, than the guy they will get if they throw their vote away.
The media never wanted to have to run the Democratic choice against Romney in the National Election, they prefer to run against McCain.......that's why the New York Times endorsed him. Many people can't see past Romney's religion but if they could, they might see a better candidate than the one they have now.
I wanted Duncan Hunter or Romney....at least both were conservative.

Re: Shocker - Romney out
McCain's now getting the celebrity support and showing up at all the fundraisers hosted by Stallone. I guess that's his only hope at combatting the "Oprah-effect".

Romney is out.
He left the way he did in order to be able to re-enter the race if something happened to McCain, and McCain couldn't continue. That's all "suspending" his campaign means.
