I found out that you don't actually eat it. It's just something you display for the New Year. Each item has some significance.
The funny thing was.....we left the dog inside all afternoon and my sister-in-law forgot to arrange for someone to feed him. We thought for sure that ugly duckling would get chowed down. Didn't happen.
