hey yall. I dont think they are just saying this stuff in CO. I think its all over the coutnry. I mean i live in FLorida, and people are saying it. I keep hearing that the h2 is just a big tahoe. some call it the T2, My buddies dad has on and he calls it a T2. Something is wrong here. Also an H2 CANT out do a Rubicon, and its not heavily modded. its from the factory with the same crap you guys have. they did a comparison on the 2 in one of the 4 wheelin magazines.
Hey done get mad at me. Im just repeating what ive heard. i want to keep you guys posted. oh by the way, did you guys get your new star bucks frequent shopper cards?

hello all:
Just wanted to bop in and say hi.
funny how people get so bent about their rigs.
To each their own I say.
Have a great day.
PS I drive a slightly modified Jeep, and hereby invite all of you to come camp and wheel with us at Independence this weekend.
YO!

I agree with Dan. Welcome to the forum, JeepThing.
FYI - My wife has a 93 GC. Last week, I replaced the yellowed headlights with a set of european spec E-Codes. Glass lenses, not plastic. Much better!

Alec,
I think you did see him. Here is his post from the co4x4.org thread:

quote:
I ran into a couple H2's up at Twin Cone a couple months ago. They were taking some of the easier lines up the trail, but at least they were out there.
H2's in general are pavement pounders, but I do respect the guys that actually take them off road. The guys that think a dirt road is wheeling though, yeah right. I saw an H2 commercial that PISSED ME OFF last night too. It was a soapbox derby type thing down a bunch of switchbacks. Some kid does up his soapbox car to look like an H2 and then tears down the hill shortcutting all the switchbacks. And we all wonder why we have such a crappy image. Don't even get me started on the Honda ad that says make your own shortcut or whatever it is.

It's it funny that on the Rubicon TV commercial, that have to have a little disclaimer stating that it is a modified vehicle. I have yet to see this in an H2 commercial.

To my knowledge, the G500's count the t-case as a locking diff, which every t-case Jeep has made outside of the 249 Quadratrac (or QuadraCrap as I call it) put into ZJ's between 93 and 95. The Tomb Raider Edition Rubi jeep sells is essentially a Rubi with cheesy parts on it. The one in the movie itself is modified quite a bit.
EDIT: someone had made a comment relevant to the above, but now I don't see their post!

I have seen vehicle bashing in many forms on many forums over the years...and when I am in my jeep I have been yelled at and thrown the bird by anybody from H2 owners, to import tuners. and I have had fun with both in the right situation. One of the local clubs I have a lot of fun with is not vehicle specific, i have wheeled with or helped work on toyotas, broncos, jeeps, Z71s, Range Rovers - all kinds of offroad vehicles.
is the H2 Recovery Team funny? I think so, but I laughed pretty hard at the Hummer with the sticker that said "Jeep - It's what's for Dinner"...I think the soap box derby H2 is funny - but that is me.
If I am on the trail and your broke down...I will break out my tools and do everything I can to get you home - no questions asked or money expected (even you BADRAP!)...I have given parts and tools to perfect strangers, rides to people I didn't know, driven a lady all over town looking for a part while her husband waited by the truck - drinking out of my cooler since they didn't have one.
I keep a small floor jack and tire repair kit in my jeep during the week - I fix flats for people and air up their tires all the time - even ricers - I loaned my floor jack to a guy while I went into the store, didn't know him from adam.
It's more a matter of common sense and decency than my jeep or SUV v.s. whatever...
one day that could be me on the other side.
JMO, putting away the soap box now!

That woulda been me! Didn't we run into you guys coming the other way where that Wrangler broke down?? From what I've heard, the trail was open all the way to the top shortly after we were up there. There was still about a 3ft deep snowfield for a good 100+ft right after that little dirt hill that brings you up over timberline. How far did you guys end up going up the trail?
Here's another one of my ZJ, I made a little foot peg with a harley peg to put my foot on while wheelin. My leg got burned pretty decent that day.

You'll always find these idiotic Hummer Hating ramblings at other websites.
Odd how you never see Jeep bashing topics started here.
So either we are more Mature, or they are indeed the envious little bitches they act like.
I for one never see anyone here claiming that a Stock H2 can out wheel a fully modified Jeep. It'll out wheel a stock jeep without a doubt.
The thing they fail to realize is that we don't own H2's STRICKLY for their off road performance. H2's offer a balance in on road performance and luxory as well as great stock off road performance.

Detonate,
Great point. I've owned 4 Jeeps before. Those guys on that site are hilarious. It a red-neck extravaganza! Actually, it's pretty embarrassing from a Colorado resident's perspective.

No need for a jeep topic on a Hummer forum.. Don't ya think???
I think that it is very interesting that the guys from the jeep forums have nothing better to do than to come over to the Hummer Forum and talk smack a little.. I do not see many from here on other forums, so I am not sure whether they are looking for topics to flame, things to talk about or just bored and maybe thinking about dropping the benjamins for a real offroad rig?? We shall see....

Klaus,
Be careful on those headlights with the lenses coming loose and possibly falling off. A few guys have those lights and are issues with that. I think most of them are running much higher wattage lights, but just something to keep an eye on!
Alec,
I'm probably booked for a bit too, not from activities planned, but more from getting my Jeep wheelable again! It's been a 2wd lifted Jeep for about 6 weeks now while I get everything I broke replaced. Bill Moore Lake is a really cool trail, there's an optional rock garden that isnt TOO nasty, and some downright beautiful scenery and a nice lake and ruins of a cabin at the top. Let me know whats a good weekend for you and I'll see if I can't get the Heep up and going by then.
BADRAP,
If you have an issue with me, shoot me a PM and we'll hash it out there.
EDIT: guess this forum doesn't have private messages, shoot me an email isntead: dreicher@tcfbank.com

The main difference between the Hummer crowd and the Jeep crowd, is that a good number of Hummer owners have owned or wheeled a jeep before, and therefore have a good idea of the capabilites of both.
Not many Jeep owners can say the same thing.

Vegas,
I agree. You never know what you're going to get when you mess with these road-ragers. You're right that it's not just CO. I mostly run into great folks out here. It's the few nutballs that you remember.
On the positive side it does make it entertaining to own an H2. Never a boring drive since someone's either give you a wave/thumbs-up or flipping you off.

Wow......thats scarry!
seems there are some real issues on the road in CO.
(not saying CO is worse then anywhere else)
best to just let a jerk like that move on.
road rage is not fun.
