Thanks everyone. I figured something wasn't right. The motor runs smooth and doesn't seem to "miss". I didn't realize there was a governor. Thanks Again!

There actually is not a governor but there is a top speed control built in to your computer that controls your motor, transmission, speedometer, etc. Unless you go to the dealership, you'll have to buy a programmer to access the computer and tell it to allow higher top speeds. 80 to 85 sounds low unless you have after market tires that are larger, causing the computer to go out of whack.
If the tires are larger, then the computer needs to be reprogrammed with a programmer, to make the changes. The programmer is a small handheld device that plugs into your vehicle under the dash, very simply. I use the Diablo Predator, but there are others available.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Thanks Gunzz,

I have the stock wheels. Right now the debate is to either take my rig to the dealer to see if there is something else wrong that would inhibit top speed or save the money from not seeing the dealer and buying a programmer to adjust accordingly. I'm just starting to investigate programmers.

PS. I like your ahhh.........picture! Thanks Again!

Thats it, electronically controlled not a govenor, only heeps use those old govenors , but yea your rig should hit 100+ like pie unless your resticted by the computer.

I have had it right up to the 100MPH mark, definately seemed like it had some more left, cruising at 90-95 is no problem at all. You should be able to do 85 or better without hitting a wall
