I have only had a couple of remarks about ruining the environment or being the cause of the war... and my reply is "we are all entitled to our own opinions, and I think you are a total waste of good air"....

More then half the vehicles on the road here are the giant Ford, GM and Dodge pickups. My favorite reply to what is your gas milage? "Not as bad as all the big piggy pick-ups around here"

My wife gave back a nice little response to some skinny little hippy that asked about why we own the H2, she did her best Cartman imitation and said
"Whatevah.....ah do what ah want!"
Cute, especially considering we ain't that young!

At the pump:
Maybe these gas prices will keep people like you off the road so there will be less traffic for those of us who arent concerned with the price of fuel.
Or if they flick you off, just smile and waive. Makes them the a55 hole instantly.
And for me, my commute is short, so at the pump:
Ask:How long is your commute?....they say +/-40 miles... you say: "Oh, well I produce less carbon, burn less fuel,drive less than you even in my hummer because I only go 10 miles a day. You should move closer to your work and be green like the rest of us!!
Or get a hybrid emblem and point at it and tell them it runs on Twin Prius motors and gets 30 MPG city.
