Re: Keyed up 2 times in a month!!! WHAT ALARM!??
Try the Black widow security system, it offers a remote paging system with extended code jumping technology. I believe the transmitter has a very long range to the paging unit and its compatible with remote start capable vehicles.

Re: Keyed up 2 times in a month!!! WHAT ALARM!??
As mentioned above, proxy motion detectors are the only way to reduce the amount of people coming close to your car.
I have the Viper along with interior AND exterior motion proxys on my H2. Once a person walks within X amount of feet of the vehicle, the alarm will chirp several times. If the motion persists, after 30 sec, the alarm(loud speaker!) will go full blown and everyone hears it. BUT be warned, you'll get MANY false alarms. Strong wind, heavy rain, heavy snow... this all activates the proxys. Also, with an interior proxy, having your windows down and the alarm activated, a butterfly that might fly in will set it off... keep in mind that sensitivity levels are adjustable.
Now what I do is have and AUX button programmed on my remote that allows me to activate the alarm without the motion proxy.. that way I can judge by the area whether the proxy's are needed or not.
Hope this helps,
Regards

Re: Keyed up 2 times in a month!!! WHAT ALARM!??
I used to love DEI alarms (Viper,Python, etc) but now I recommend Compustar their 2-way is amazing and its has long range almost 2-3X that of DEI.
BUT...none of thse will stop ur car from getting scratched...i had the same problem got scratched...repainted got scratched again left it like this till i catch one of these ****ers so they can pay for it.
But if you want a alarm for security get 2-way Compustar.....DEI used to be amazing until they expanded their business beyond just alarms.
Other then that i would recommend waiting to catch the ****er......or maybe you can figure out a way to shock this ****ers when they touch the car....lolololol

The problem with the motion sensors is the wind will set them off and stuff. Its hard to get them sensitive enough that it'll pickup people walking by and keying the truck, yet not pickup false alarms every 10 mins when a bird flies by.

Re: Keyed up 2 times in a month!!! WHAT ALARM!??
I've been keyed too, no alarm is going to prevent it. I think where you park has more to do with being keyed than just about anything else.
Someone isn't going to walk across a long expanse of parking lot to key a car and then walk back, it's usually an impulse thing if they're walking past it or parked next to it.
Of course you can't always park a long ways off and even if you can, it's not a 100% guarantee you won't get keyed. Just remember the World is full of amoral dip****s, and if they decide you're a target, there isn't much you can do to prevent it.
Sure we'd all like to catch them, but it happens in seconds and you'd pretty much have to be there at that exact moment. I for one have better things to do.

Re: Keyed up 2 times in a month!!! WHAT ALARM!??
A cheap(er) first step is to do what I did. For $35.00 I ordered two "hybrid" badges (for the Toyota Highlander) which fit and look perfect under the "H2" badge on the doors. Now that your H2 is a hybrid, why would they want to key it? The reactions from people are priceless. When people ask about it, I tell them the H2 Hybrid is a special order from the factory and it gets 27 mpg on the highway and about 22 mpg around town. The whole idea so messes with their paradigm of Hummer=Bad they don't know what to do.
