Here are the lines from the movie "Death Wish" that this story reminds me of:
Me and my crew was working down in the hole. One of the boys yelled down, "There's a mugging." So we come out...
...and we caught this guy and roughed him up before the police came.
The hospital reports the man had broken arms and cracked ribs.
No kidding? Jeez, the poor guy must have fell down.
