I've watched enough court shows to know that you never ever just take someone's information without calling the police and filling out a report. Not to mention only getting a first name. However, what's done is done. Here's the search for looking up cell phone numbers in reverse. Some ask for money to give you information, some are free. He should try that perhaps, at least it's a start. And next time, tell him to file a report.

I'm sorry but this whole thing is just silly. Seriously, if I only took down a complete stranger's first name and #, I would not expect a dime. I'd kiss that money goodbye.
Why bother when my insurance can make all the calls. That's why I make that payment every month so they can hassle with it. Probably not $300 worth of damage, but a lot more.
There was only one time someone hit me and I didn't call my insurrance. A guy hit my bumper in a truck that I had that I didn't care about. He had 500 bucks on him and asked me not to call my insurance. I took the money and never fixed small dent in the bumper.  |
