Re: H3 Adventure, 5Speed - scarce
I just spent all day TRYING to hit my head, and no matter what I do, I don't even come close, and that includes looking all the way forward and up, having my back straight and no head tilting. The only way I come close is if I pull myself all the way forward and stretch myself out in an akward position, but nobody sits like this and I'm practically lifting myself out of the seat.
I think it all comes down to how you have the seat adjusted. I have the seat all the way back, down, and slightly reclining. Do you have manual adjusting seats or the electric?

I have manual seats. Cloth. So no height adjustment. Back almost all the way. 1 position forward, and the back is reclined only slightly. I've sat in many H3s. Leather, and cloth. Powered and not. I've adjusted them, Ive had dealership adjust them, doesnt matter. WITH SUNROOF, I can sit up and hit my head, or if seat is just about all the way vertical, can hit my head. WITHOUT SUNROOF, I cannot hit my head.
Now, hitting head is on the head liner, not actual sunroof. Just to be clear. So what can I say? But thanks for checking.

Re: H3 Adventure, 5Speed - scarce
I'll just throw my 2 cents in here. I'm 6'4" and have manual seats in my H3. I don't keep the seat all the way back, nor is it reclined a great deal. I don't have a problem with my head hitting the roof, never had. I'm fairly long in the torso.
I did have that problem for 4 years with my wife's RX300 (bought it anyway because she wanted it). Traded it for a Mercury Mountaineer (that I never test drove) and was really ticked off that my head hit the roof in it, dumped it after 8 months. Now she has a Chrysler T&C that I didn't even want to test drive because of the sunroof, but once I did I found out it had plenty of room.
So, I understand the problem but I am a bit surprised since the H3 is fairly tall. Too bad, though, because the sunroof really adds to the coolness factor.

Re: H3 Adventure, 5Speed - scarce
Dealers order most of the trucks. Automatics are way easier to move. There is also an add for an automatic when the vehicle is resold.
Most dealers will order very few manuals because they don't want to get stuck trying to move a more difficult vehicle.
A more rural dealer may take the chance with a stick more than a city dealer, but most Hummer dealers are close to larger urban areas. A big off road dealer like Lynch might also be more willing to order some sticks. They probably go pretty fast because if someone specifically wants a stick, they go get it or dealer trade for it.
I know, I know....... but that's why.

Re: H3 Adventure, 5Speed - scarce
Thx Rugged. I know they're fairly scarce. I think mine sat on the dealer lot for months before I bought it. No one wanted a 5speed. Go figure.
