I like those tires a lot! Why are they illegal? Are they afraid the aggressive tread pattern will tear up the asphalt on the roads?

Belgium has very strict laws when it comes to modding cars / trucks. My truck has the original bfg all terrains , so those tires must be on the truck all the time. Same with lifting. I cannot lift the truck. There's a yearly vehicle inspection, and with a lift, they would forbid me to drive it. Same with the cops, if they pull me over and check my papers, and see that I'm driving different tires, I'd be fined alot...
