I dont think it's much better. I think the H3 and H3T are about the same #s, and the I5 might have about 1100 capacity. Strange huh.

That is strange. GM is noted for understating its ratings. However that sounds very low. The 06 with the I5 is rated about 1500lbs payload...
You might reason with the extension on the H3T it would go higher in payload. Sounds like its strictly a 1/2 ton pick up. I would have figured 3/4 especially with the V8 out front.
