Re: Burned CDs in a h2?
X5
I've used the burner on my Gateway Computer and all the discs played without problem in the Hummer.

I'm gonna get a cleaning disc, but does anyone know if Cd-RW disc play better than Cd-R?

Re: Burned CDs in a h2?
I've used both with no problems. My biggest problem is being careful storing them. I normally just throw them in the console and they get scratched.

Cd-RW discs are rewritable/erasable and in my experience they do not perform as well as Cd-R, especially after many erase/rewrite cycles. They are also more expensive and it doesn't make sense to use them for music.
If your disks are skipping during playback, try burning them at a slower speed. Burning at 48X and higher will produce more errors, especially with poor quality media.

Re: Burned CDs in a h2?
I ended up burning mine at a slower speed and they work fine now. My 05' stock system never played a burned disk for 2 years until I asked this same question in off topic. Thanks to COHummer, I got it working in no time.

are you using a cd-r disc or cd-rw, and what brand and size is it. also does anyone know if using a cleaning disc is safe?

I think I'm using the CD-R Sony. See, I'm not much of a techno geek. I was having trouble getting a disk to play in my daughters Strawberry Shortcake CD player. When I tried it in the H2 it didn't work either. I had to burn the disk at 4x speed. When I found out that worked, I didn't try burning it at any faster speeds because it sounds fine to us.
When they weren't playing correctly, they sounded like they were scratched.

I only seem to have problems when using CD-RW, they skip and sometimes just stop playing altogether.
Never had a problem with a CD-R. They burn faster too.

I think using the cleaning disk from time to time (every couple of months) and writing them at low speed is the best deal
