He finally sent me the code  ... says all you have to do is hit the mute button on the steering wheel 4 times to unlock and 4 times to lock... I'll have to try it...

hummbob.....strange, he contacted me but didn't send me the code?!?!
did you file with paypal already? let me know if you get a code or what. I'll do the same. The guy has 100% feedback, I'm surprised this is happening.

He CONTACTED me, the magic "CODE" is to hit the mute button on the steering wheel 4 times to unlock and 4 times to lock.....
Didn't work for me......

well that sux....... how could he have that much good feedback about this. I'm sure you sent him an email, I'll be curious to hear what he says. He still hasn't even responded to me with what to do .....

So far no go on an '08 Escalade... Did he give any further instructions like you had to be parked or under/at/over a certain speed to do it, time between hitting mute button or if it needed to be pressed for a certain amount of time,... or any other details...? By his feedback it seems it works, we must be missing something... |

Guys, you need the actual hardware component for this to work. Its a GM NAV/DVD UNLOCK interface that goes between the radio and the oem harness. Than with this installed the 4 Mute button depressions works. NO CODE or SECRET way will allow NAV/DVD to play unless you get the interface. Links and pasted content from website below.

backnblack, the original poster (#1) was looking to unlock his Nav to input directions while driving... That's what the ebay guy was selling too, "Cadillac Escalade Nav Override Bypass unlock"...
We do not ned the $250 lockpick to do this, it is done basically for free this way:

both the lockpick and the above method involve removing the radio anyway, so why spend the $250!
I was looking for the nav unlock on the Escalade also, as I have done the above method on my H2... |

I bought that "code" from the guy and it was "Press Mute 4 times BS" and also said BTW you must have the lockpic to do this code. DO NOT BUY THIS unless you have the lockpic.
