Has anyone else had to have the entire head replaced? I smell recall.

My 06 H3, engine light has come on around 37K took it to dealer and they replaced the head but still can't figure out the problem so they are keeping it longer to try to find the problem say they have to take the whole thing apart, i wont get it back for another week they think.

i love my H3 but I was really hesitant buying an american car again, and i'm crossing my fingers. but don't think i'll buy an american car again.
