Saturday night, 3/18/06 (21:33:38 P.M.),
at the cottonwood country club (Salt Lake city)
I walked out to my H3 at about 10:00 P.M.
Noticed that someone had spit 3-4 nice green one's on the front windshield of my H3, *******!
So, I got in my rig, started it and turned on the wipers! The next couple of day's went by and the situation stewd in my mind so, this eve. I decided to check out the recorded tape from the eight surveillance camera's at the club. well sure enough, there was a red bmw parked in front of me that two employee's got into and the driver decided to leave me a few gift's.
I could easily retaliate but, I really don't want to lower myself down to this punk's level.
so, first I think I will talk to the club's GM, and then I will talk to the little prick that did this childish act.
What do you H3ers think? I would like to take a bat to his Fu*king head but, we all know that would probably land my ass in jail!

Sorry, but anything the club gives is just gravy. It's not their fault, they can't screen for cooks with spitting disorders.

Why go after the club for something you don't deserve from them? It would be a different story if they tried to avoid the whole situation to begin with and didn't provide video, etc.

Just damn, do something about the punk but don't go after someone who had nothing to do with it.

As long as employees are within the club's property, then management is responsible for the behavior of their employees.

It's disturbing to think that the employee must have known about the surveillance system and still choose to offend a club member/patron.

The club is responsible for their employees and they should take action against their chef. They should also make you feel very comfortable about returning to their club.

That's all I have to say 'bout that ........

Glad to hear that you were able to get the club to do the right thing.

Hope that he doesn't try to 'get you back' for getting him in trouble. Some losers are like that. They screw off, get busted... then go after the one who they messed over.

Congrats on getting a full detail out of it!

Bastard File + Brake Lines = brakes going out eventually The authorities will chalk it up to an errant piece of gravel kicking up from the road!

Yes the club should take responsibility for an employees actions but that doesn't justify asking for a years free membership. I also agree that they should take action against this cook and everything should be fine. If they don't and he goes public with it is when managemnet, staff and other members might not make him feel real welcome at the club.

Don't try to get the club to pay for something they really didn't have any control over unless they try to stonewall you and do nothing. Then you can start talking to them about going public with it. If you do go down that path, you probably won't be too welcome there by staff or guests due to the publicity. Unless management told him to spit on your truck, they really didn't do anything to deserve you going after them. I think the punk needs to pay somehow but keep in mind that even if he gets fired, I am sure he will still have friends in the kitchen or elsewhere at the club.

As one employee of mine told me "dude, you're harshing my mellow"

The punk ass beotch should be canned and the Club needs to do "something" for you. I would ask them what they suggest....then go for at least 20% more. Just my policy when I get dissed by bad service.

It all comes down to envy, jealousy and the "why him syndrome." If you drive fun cars and live long enough, something like this will happen at least once in your lifetime. I've only had one incident with someone writing on the side window in lipstick on my H3. When I was 20 someone threw a handful of tarry pebbles from a parking lot on the seats of a one month old '65 Corvette (in those days we thought it was safe to leave the windows down in the summer) - I was beside myself, years later someone keyed the side of the same car in a nice area of Santa Monica.
Then you have Hummers, which like it or not, bring out strong reactions - mostly positive from men, a somewhat puzzled look by women at times, and downright disgust from tree huggers & the less educated. People group the H1, H2 and H3 together due to the good marketing job GM has done on the H2 and 3. I'm known at the hardware store as "Hummer Man" in my small town and I find my kids give me Hummer floormats, Tshirts, garage mats, etc for Christmas and my birthday and tend to identify me with the Hummer now - these vehicles do that. Has anyone ever seen a Corolla T-shirt or been called Accord Man? NOT! The spit on the windshield is the price you pay for driving something that stands out, makes a statement, doesn't look like every other cookie cutter SUV or car out there, and in many ways says who you are and that you really like to go offroad - and to me it's worth it!

Hey, on KUTV channel 2 TV news this morning
they were at the Jerry Seiner dealer showing
vehicles including Hummers. Pretty cool.
I wonder if KUTV would do a news report about
that experience and surveillance and such. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Ya!

Sorry to hear about that. Is this a popular club? The kind that attracts high-end, up-scale customers? Sounds like it since the employee drives a BMW. If it is, the owner would be very protective of that image and would not like any bad press. So, here's a thought; go the legal route but with a touch of Don Corleone.
- View the tape with the manager. Don't say anything - let him/her do all the talking.
- After you have viewed the tape let the GM tell you what he/she is going to do.
- If you like what you hear, then let it go, but make a deal that you don't have to pay to get into the club for a year.
- If you don't like what you hear, then ask if that is their final decision, then leave.
- Then launch the "bad press" campaign, write to the local paper(s) about the uncontrolled vandalism on the rise at the club, and that employees even vandalising the customer's cars. Don't mention your situation specifically. Be as anonymous as possible.
Before you send in the letter, stop by the police station. Find out if any prior reports have been filed against the club. I'm sure you're not the first to have this done to you. Incorporate the history of vandalism in your letter. Also, in your letter, ask a question of the readers: If the employees are free to vandalize parked cars, what are they doing to your drinks/food?

Just a thought .........
