Re: AM General shuts down H2 plant
I am okay with it. All Great things must come to an end. Look at is this way all of us H2 owners already have a Classic! Im sure that if it comes back it will only be if a buyout is done or when the economy recovers.
Now it might be a while, If you think about it the true muscle car dissapeared in the late 70's only to come back in the 90's. Im thinking this may be the trend we could see.
Just my $.02

Re: AM General shuts down H2 plant
I've noticed on Ebay and Auto Trader some of the H2 prices have come up a thousand or two in one day! One H2 ad on Ebay says "Own the last of the the best offroad vehicle ever made, except for the H1!"There are so many H2s out there we're not going to have to worry about parts and I'm sure there will be aftermarket manufacturers IF NO ONE buys Hummer from GM and this really is the end of the line for the H2.

Re: AM General shuts down H2 plant
I don't think the H2 is going anywhere too soon...there's still demand, just not the demand there was 5 years ago. A new investor will see that, embrace HUMMER's niche market, and advertise that the brand isn't for everyone. HUMMER's new CEO is already going down that path when he said this a week ago:
"If there's a disappointed HUMMER owner, it's because they weren't looking for a HUMMER. They bought the wrong car. If you're looking for a vehicle that does what this does, you're not going to be disappointed."
