I can't remember if they're stainless steel (most probable) or aluminum.
In either case, there are only two types of crossbars.... black or metal finish.
Sorry I'm not more help. I'm sure someone will pipe up as to what they actually are.

Thanks for the help! The black going down the middle threw me for a loop....I thought well are they "black" or "aluminum"?
