I would say you have the upperhand here. Not many folks are looking for 8 inch lifts or to run 40's. I bet you can negotiate him down to 1,000. You dont need it but he has to get rid of it.

I suspect he doesnt have a lot of folks looking to buy it.

I'm thinking if you send him $750 before you get anything you just get a thank you and not much else. I would consider it to be a scam especially since people say you can't go back on you lift. Just my 2 cents

In deals like this, I would just ship the parts and fly out and meet the guy to do the swap, then he can help you crate and ship them back.

Flights are so cheap its worth the "insurance" to meet the guy, heck...maybe make a new buddy and have a mini-vacation.

I have done this a few times for equipment for work and toys.....always worked out well.

Well, the guy could always turn out to be a murderer, and rape you and tie you to a tree in the woods, but u got to take some chances -)
