There's nothing like an old school fix for that... A Hidden Kill switch on the remote receive module for the door unlock and starter Kill where ever that may be.
Leaving your H2 you would lock the system with the FOB and then throw the Hidden kill switch so the remote won't work to unlock or start the rig.
Of course upon return you would throw the switch back to revive the receive module.
Then again....the BCM comes into play I guess and who knows what it will do or if it would set a code. Sounds like a good idea me tinks.
I have the service manuals so me tinks I'll look that up an see if it will work on my 09 H2.
Comments or other suggestions welcome....

Most GOOD alarm systems and later model garage door openers have anti-code-grabbing feature, where the code changes each time.

...but still I wonder...the OP said he spent 3 hours in the MALL. YIKES! Who spends that kinda time in a mall? I mean it's Game Stop, Sear's tool section, maybe Radio Shack then I'm out before I lose my mind.
