Re: 17x10 wheel with at least 5" backspacing?
thats perfect!i like that wheel there. will that 4.5" backspacing be enough with a 9" wide wheel to keep from rubbing?

4.5" backspacing is 4.5" backspacing regardless of the width of the rim...it means you've got 4.5" from the wheel mounting pad to the outside of the rim flange.
The reset of the wheel (in this case the other 4.5" goes out from the truck). If we were talking about a 10" rim with a 4.5" backspace you'd have 5.5" on the outside and your tires would stick out a bit further from your fenders.
Check this out:
EDIT: and, yeah, I like those rims too. If I'd have found them a little earlier that's what I'd have went with, but I already had my 18" tires in the garage waiting on my 18" ATX Mojave Teflons ...then they went out of production and couldn't be found anywhere. Unfortunately for me they don't make the Black Rocks in 18s; so it was Rockstars for me.

Re: 17x10 wheel with at least 5" backspacing?
Ok. That's what i though. So the 17x9 with the 4.5" backspace will sit the same distance away as the 17x 10 with a 4.5 backspacing. Good to know. Well, i found my winter wheels. That was pretty easy. Lol

Re: 17x10 wheel with at least 5" backspacing?
To see a comparison, including warnings of possible suspension and fender clearance issues, you can use this site (which is awesome):
http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp
On the left side, where you enter the stock sizes as a base for comparison, you would use the stock 315/70, 17" diameter, 8.5" wide, and 18mm offset/ET (which yields a stock backspacing of 5.5"). On the right side, enter the specs for your new wheel/tire setup. Sadly, the tool doesn't support "high flotation" tire sizes where you use inch measurements for tire diameter and width, but you can at least get a sense for how different wheel setups will look and whether or not they will have clearance issues. Obviously, on the H2, we don't have to worry much about fender clearance, but it's wise to check the suspension clearance.
Good luck, let us know how it goes!

Re: 17x10 wheel with at least 5" backspacing?
The above illustration is correct. And my info under another thread was partly wrong. The info I gave about backspacing measurement was correct. The info I gave about offset was incorrect. Offset is measured from the center of the wheel, so -44 moves the hub closer to the hub than -24. Sorry.
