In the news this month by a Missouri court was a decision that reposting of any picture posted on an "Internet Site, Forum or Blog" that you don't have to pay to join or view is "in the public domain and can be reposted with no royalties due or permission from the orginal owner of the picture." Lawsuit was over a picture posted in a car forum and then used as as an ad by a large company.
